Shortly Shares Tour Stories Before Hometown Show at Loving Touch

Shortly at Ferndale Radio

Detroit-based singer-songwriter Shortly, real name Alexandria Maniak, returned to her hometown on September 20 for her first show in Michigan since performing at the Mo Pop Fest. The Southgate, Mich. native opened for Mom Jeans at the Loving Touch in Ferndale and stopped by the station to talk about the recent release of her new EP, Richmond, tour stories and more.

“The tour has been super super fun,” Maniak says. “I’ve gone on a couple of tours so far but none as long as this one is supposed to be. And so I was very very nervous for it.”

“They all kind of accepted the band with open arms,” the artist says of her tour mates in Mom Jeans and Just Friends. “After shows there’s ‘band chats’ where there’s a circle and everyone’s kind if like in marching band style, yelling at each other in happy ways.”

Shortly released a brand new EP entitled Richmond via Triple Crown Records in September. We are patiently awaiting the release of her first full-length album.
