Ferndale Library Reading Rainbow

The Ferndale Library and Affirmations co-host a social club/book club for kids in grades 4-8, meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s program room.
This is a social hour that includes a book discussion. Each month, attendees have the chance to read and then discuss a selected book at the Reading Rainbow. Kids don’t have to have finished – or even started the book – to attend the Reading Rainbow; the rest of the hour is free time dedicated to socializing/crafting/hanging out together,
You can pick up a copy of this month’s book at the Ferndale Library.
On January 27, the group will discuss “Operatic” by Kyo Maclear. The evocatively illustrated graphic novel brilliantly captures the high drama of middle school by focusing on the desire of its finely drawn characters to sing and be heard.
