Longtime Ferndale restaurant The Emory made a surprise announcement on Friday that they plan to permanently close their doors at the end of the year.
The downtown Ferndale eatery has been open since 2007, sharing the same owner with Woodward Avenue Brewers and bar and music venue The Loving Touch.
“We’ve been the little sibling of WAB and the big sibling of The Loving Touch, and seen both places evolve into what they are today,” The Emory wrote on their Facebook page. “And at the end of 2024, we’ll be writing the last chapter of The Emory.”
The social media post didn’t provide a reason for the closure or what’s next for the building. The Emory will be open every weekend in December before shutting down for good.
