Because the NITE

Do you get the Instagram ads from independent artists, using their reels to grab your attention, with Listen Now popping up? I highly suggest you DO listen.

That’s how I discovered the Texas band, NITE. They looked cool, they sounded a little industrial, a little new wave, a little goth rock and they had an upcoming show at the Sanctuary Detroit. It’s hard to label them when their inspiration comes from a variety of bands from Ladytron, Alice in Chains, NiN, Depeche Mode and New Order.

Their Sanctuary show was one of the last shows at the old location in Hamtramck, where they managed to pull off entertaining theatrical drama in their stage show, even in a smaller locale.

I recently got to chat with Kyle and Myles and learn more about the band’s history. They’ve been a band for a long time, but their trajectory still “feels very swift”. Their first headline tour took place throughout Europe this year and “the reality of it was hard to take in”. Playing all over Europe and around the U.S. as openers, they learned the ropes form the great bands they got to tour with.

Catch my interview with NITE here. They’re wrapping up their tour back in their home state and will be releasing new music soon. Stay tuned!
