About Host David Boylan
David Boylan hosts Lick the Plate – Michigan’s original culinary, culture and music show that has told the stories of 1,200+ culinary, culture and music personalities over the past 15 years. It began as a weekly column in The Coast News in Encinitas, CA where it still resides. Its on-air presence began on 102.1 KPRI in San Diego in 2011 and in 2015 expanded to 93.9 The River in Detroit/Windsor. In 2017 it joined Northern Broadcasting and MyNorth.com to bring the show to Northern Michigan where it now airs on WQON out of Traverse City. David is also a contributor to Traverse Magazine.
He is the youngest of six and has a son Quinn Boylan who produces the show. David is a Royal Oak native and attended St. Mary’s Elementary, Dondero High, and Grand Valley University. Cooking, gardening, surfing, fishing and dive bars are all passions.
