Sue Burrows of Royal Oak’s Gusoline Alley joins this week’s Lick the Plate

This week’s Lick the Plate on 100.7 Ferndale Radio features the iconic Gusoline Alley in Royal Oak with bar manager Sue Burrows. Host David Boylan has a long history at Gus’ having grown up just blocks away and was an early patron, pinball player and jukebox aficionado prior to it becoming the “hip dive bar” in the area, and the classic jukebox mysteriously disappearing.

Even in a Royal Oak that’s becoming more like Birmingham daily, it’s still David’s go-to bar in the area because of the eclectic crowd, welcoming bartenders and still maintaining some of its original dive bar charm.  Sue Burrows has been there for 25 years of those experiences and has plenty of great stories of her own to share. It’s a fun listen!
