Mo Pop fest brings Glass Animals, Big Sean + more to Hart Plaza

After a three-year hiatus, Mo Pop music festival is returning this summer with over 20 acts, including Detroit’s own Big Sean as one of the headliners.

Scheduled for July 30 and 31 at Hart Plaza, Mo Pop will also feature Glass Animals, whose 2020 “Heat Wave” has become a pop hit and, oddly enough, earned the British band a Best New Artist Grammy nomination despite releasing their debut album Zaba in 2014. Los Angeles artist Jhené Aiko, who sang “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVI, will also be in town for Mo Pop weekend to join her partner Big Sean.

Anyone who couldn’t buy tickets to the sold out girl in red show March 22 at Majestic Theatre will be happy to know she’ll also grace the Mo Pop stage. And if you missed out on seeing Beach Bunny at the Majestic Theatre last November (shame on you), you get another chance this July.

Kaytranada, Khruangbin, Dominic Fike, Dayglow, Ashe, TikTok star Tai Verdes and more are scheduled for Mo Pop weekend. See the full lineup below.

“I’m just excited for the festival to stay in the city, stay on the river and be in a much more visible site,” Mo Pop festival director Jason Rogalewski told the Detroit Free Press. “We’ve been kind of on the outskirts of downtown. It’s a great opportunity for the festival. You won’t be able to miss it if you’re downtown that weekend.”

Fans can access presale tickets this Friday, February 18 starting at noon ET at mopopfestival.com. General onsale starts the following Monday at noon.
