The Peripheral Week 2: Durand Jones, Eryn Allen Kane, Koko Taylor + more

Welcome to The Peripheral week 2! This week, we are diving into our femme history with tracks from legendary divas Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, and Patsy Cline. We will also hear some Chicago blues with two tracks off the powerhouse Koko Taylor’s 1975 album I Got What It Takes.

In addition, we are exploring some, in my opinion, under-appreciated tunes from Amber Mark, Yebba, Durand Jones, and Detroit native Eryn Allen Kane. Durand Jones’ track “See It Through” comes off his first solo LP Wait Til I Get Over released in 2023 outside of his wildly successful band project Durand Jones & The Indications.
