Cash Box and iPad Stolen After Drifter Coffee is Burglarized

Ferndale Police investigate Drifter Coffee break-in.

Drifter Coffee recently opened their first brick and mortar location at 770 Woodward Heights in Ferndale. Unfortunately the coffee shop was broken into Saturday morning, with the thief or thieves stealing cash and an iPad.

Drifter Coffee posted the news on their Facebook page.

The store still opened on Saturday hoping to recoup some of the losses. I had a chance to speak to owner Alleah Webb during their soft weekend opening at the end of March. There was literally a line out the door when I walked up to the building.

“It’s been really cool because it’s friends, family, people from the neighborhood—people we never met before from all walks of life,” Webb said at the time when describing the community reception during the initial launch of the cafe.

“So people are sort of telling us that the things that we tried to do are working. Homey, sunny, comfortable, that sort of thing. So that feels really good.”

Drifter Coffee is open six days a week: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekends.
