Ferndale Project Will Start Serving Beer February 22

The wait is over.

Eastern Market Brewing Co. is finally ready to welcome the public to its new brewpub, Ferndale Project, this Saturday. As the Detroit Free Press reports, Ferndale Project will celebrate its grand opening with an all-day party from 8 a.m. to midnight featuring a variety of beers and food.

Eastern Marketing Brewing’s latest venture replaces Axle Brewing Co.’s Livernois Tap at 567 Livernois Avenue in Ferndale, which sadly closed last summer. EMB acquired Axle in September and proceeded to work on transforming the Livernois Tap to Ferndale Project.

“Axle was very much a community space and very involved in Ferndale, and they’ve really laid the blueprint for what we should do from a community perspective,” Dayne Bartscht, managing partner at Eastern Marketing Brewing Co., told the Free Press. “We want to take what they did and embrace it.”

Freep’s Brian Manzullo shares that Ferndale Project will have over a dozen beers on tap, as well as ciders, nitro cold brew from Ashe Supply Co. and house-made root beer.

Axle Brewing Co. founder Daniel Riley is happy to see his building get a second chance to serve the Ferndale community with Ferndale Project as the new tenants.

“I’m incredibly excited to see our space and the street buzzing again this weekend! It’s been really cool watching the Ferndale Project team adapt the space and create their brand over the last 6 months,” Riley tells Ferndale Radio. “Their energy and creativity is inspiring and I’m especially appreciative of how they’ve harnessed elements of our history while creating a unique and fresh new brand. I’m looking forward to being a customer!”
