Park Your Dog at Two Ferndale Restaurants

Sometimes you want to enjoy a quick drink or a few apps while you’re walking your dog. Ferndale now offers two locations where you can park your canine friend.

As Crain’s reports, the owners of Rosie O’Grady’s and Pop’s for Italian have installed air-conditioned dog houses behind each location. Kramer Restaurant Group acquired the pods from Brooklyn, N.Y. startup DogSpot. Similar to parking apps like SpotHero, users can reserve time on the DogSpot app for their pupper, up to 90 minutes per session. The cost of using DogSpot is $.30 per minute. According to DogSpot’s founders, their dog houses are vet-grade and include a webcam so that you can keep an eye on your dog.

The DogSpot app helps prevent people tying their dogs up outside, or worse, leaving them inside a hot car.

“Basically, I’m tired of seeing dogs tied up to the light pole, sitting in a hot car, things like that,” Kramer Restaurant Group marketing manager Shane Hudson told Crain’s. “I do have a lot of customers who want to come in and grab a drink or a quick bite while they’re walking their dog.”
